Deal Flow is the most coveted thing in VC
Here are some ways that you can source startups and get deal flow:
1) Group Chats
The biggest way you can source startups today if you don’t have any network is by joining group chats
And looking and connecting with founders who share about their startups
2)Partnering/ Collaborating with Startup Accelerators
One thing I have done with my podcast Business Podcast by Roohi is establish partnerships/and collabs with startup accelerators like Techstars NY, and Pygma
This helps in two ways:
Promote some of the startups in the Pygma and Techstars roster
Also helps me find and discover promising startups
3) Start creating content + personal brand around the North Star Metric of VC and Start ups
This helps you establish yourself as a point of reference for founders, and VC’s
And can help you in the future get inbounds of deal flow and such
4)If you are a scout or VC- at any level of the VC firm
Make a post sharing your news of your new position
And let people send you their DM’s, and pitch decks
This is how you get inbound deal flow
b) On the podcast I met Kamal Ravikant of Evolve VC
You can listen to what Kamal has to share here:
c) Podcasts
a) Harry Stebbings hosts a phenomenal podcast called 20VC:
Listen to his latest podcast interview here w/ Sheel:
b) Download the Philippine Venture Capital Report for 2023 here: https://www.foxmontcapital.com/
